Marie-Anne Vanderhasselt

I am an associated professor and principal investigator in the Ghent
Experimental Psychiatry Lab
. I received my
M.A. in clinical psychology at the Free University of Brussels (2004) and my
PhD in psychological sciences at Ghent University (2008). As a postdoctoral
research fellow, I have completed three one-year visits within international research
labs. I joined the GHEP Lab in 2015 as a principal investigator.

With my research, I seek to integrate basic and applied neuroscience to
study the underlying mechanisms of stress reactivity and emotion regulation
among healthy and clinical populations. To investigate these topics, I utilize behavioral,
physiological, electrophysiological and neuroimaging methods during
ecologically valid protocols to induce emotional distress and negative
emotions.

My research has been supported by the Research Foundation Flanders (FWO),
Bijzonder Onderzoeksfonds (BOF), The King Baudouin Foundation (KBS).
